This is because gold bullion tends to be more stable in price and has a higher pure gold content than jewelry, which is 24 karat.

However, in our society, especially among mothers, gold is preferred in the form of jewelry because it can be used as an accessory in everyday activities.

Gold jewelry can be a long term investment, just said that the gold grade of the jewelry should be 24k or not too far off.

But usually the purity of gold in jewelry is not up to 24K because pure gold is soft. To make it more robust, the gold content is reduced to less than 20 carats.

Another problem is the cost of making gold jewelry. The more difficult and varied the jewelry, the more expensive the processing fee will be. So, in the end, the amount of gold jewelry is nothing compared to gold bars.

For those of you looking to start investing in gold, Ibrahim said there are various stages and things to consider.

When buying, make sure the price is fair. In his opinion, the ideal price to start investing in gold right now is when the price is falling or at a level below IDR 900,000 per gram. For information, the Antam gold price as of Monday (12/13) was IDR 930,000 per gram, that's where people buy," Ibrahim explains.

Second, educate yourself and only buy from a reputable place to buy and sell gold. You need to be very careful, especially with the increase in online gold tube deals. 

Ibrahim advised to buy only from trusted places, for example PT Aneka Tambang (Persero) Tbk aka Antam. Third, he said that people should ask a lot of questions and educate themselves on how to invest in gold. For example, he said that it would take at least 5 years to make money investing in gold.

The reason for this is that gold is classified as a safe investment vehicle or a conservative investment that is more stable in volatile markets. Because of this, the price increase is not as fantastic as other risky investments.

Therefore, he warned against using only "cool" money or one that will not be used in the near future.

"It must be cool money, don't make money on daily meals as an investment."
